Adrien Lyne's classic erotic thriller, "Fatal Attraction," is the latest gem from cinema's glory days to be dusted off and receive the TV remake treatment. What makes this streaming remake of "Fatal Attraction" from Paramount+ rather interesting is the cast list it has assembled, which includes Lizzy Caplan, Joshua Jackson, and Amanda Peet.

In "Castle Rock" season 2, Caplan did the unthinkable and managed to fill Kathy Bates' Oscar-winning shoes as Annie Wilkes, the obsessed "number one fan" and villain of Stephen King's "Misery." Now, Caplan has set her sights on Alex Forrest, the obsessed stalker and antagonist first played by the inimitable Glenn Close in "Fatal Attraction."

Here's everything we know about the upcoming "Fatal Attraction" series so far.

When And Where Can I See Fatal Attraction?

In the U.S. and Canada, the first two episodes of "Fatal Attraction" — which is reportedly a limited series — will premiere on the Paramount+ service on Sunday, April 30, 2023. In other territories where Paramount + is available, including the U.K., Australia, Latin America, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and France, those two episodes will premiere the following day, on Monday, May 1, 2023.

After that, Paramount+ will release one new episode of "Fatal Attraction" per week until the series finishes out its eight-episode run, meaning it should air its finale on Sunday, June 11, 2023, in North America. The South Korean premiere date for "Fatal Attraction" will be announced at a later time.

What Is Fatal Attraction About?

The original "Fatal Attraction" was about a married man whose weekend affair with an obsessive woman leads to her stalking him and his family. In a press release, Paramount+ has described "Fatal Attraction" as "a deep-dive reimagining of the classic psychosexual thriller and '80s cultural touchstone."

Released the same year that Michael Douglas played Gordon Gecko in "Wall Street," "Fatal Attraction" was the highest-grossing film of 1987, and it was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture. However, it's been over 25 years since its release, and it sounds like the creative people behind this new show are looking to give the story a 21st-century update. The series is billed as one that "will explore fatal attraction and the timeless themes of marriage and infidelity through the lens of modern attitudes toward strong women, personality disorders and coercive control."

The Cast And Crew Of Fatal Attraction

This version of "Fatal Attraction" stars Joshua Jackson as Dan Gallagher and Lizzy Caplan as Alex Forrest, the roles respectively made famous by Michael Douglas and Glenn Close in the original '80s film. Amanda Peet costars as Dan's wife, Beth Gallagher (originally played by Anne Archer in an Oscar-nominated role), while Alyssa Jirrels plays their daughter, Ellen.

Rounding out the cast as seemingly new characters in "Fatal Attraction" are Toby Huss as Mike Gerard, Reno Wilson as Detective Earl Booker, and Brian Goodman as Arthur Tomlinson.

Showrunner Alexandra Cunningham ("Dirty John") is writing and co-executive producing "Fatal Attraction" with Kevin J. Hynes ("Perry Mason"), the latter of whom shares a story credit. Other executive producers include Silver Tree, who's set to direct five episodes, and Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey for Amblin Television.
