Daniel Radcliffe has enjoyed an immensely successful career, from his stint as a young wizard to complex, eccentric roles that are far from his comfort zone. The actor has delivered impressive performances long after the "Harry Potter" franchise ended, in films such as "Swiss Army Man" and the series "Miracle Workers." More recently, the actor appeared in the adventure comedy "The Lost City" alongside Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum as a billionaire who abducts a romance writer.

For years since his departure from the wizarding world, Radcliffe's fans have wondered whether the actor will lend his talents to another big franchise, particularly the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Multiple rumors of the actor appearing as the MCU's Wolverine have surfaced over the years, which he has repeatedly denied. Marvel Studios has been casting some of Hollywood's biggest names to star in their superhero films lately, and Daniel Radcliffe brings a certain star power with him wherever he goes. So could the actor land his first MCU superhero role soon? Until that dream of ours can manifest, let's look at five Marvel Comic characters we'd love to see Daniel Radcliffe play!

Deacon Frost

After the release of the abomination that is Sony's "Morbius," I'd say we urgently need to populate the MCU with genuinely fascinating vampires. What better way for Daniel Radcliffe to make his debut than by playing the MCU's first vampire? (Again, Morbius doesn't count.)

Meet Deacon Frost, a scientist-turned-vampire whose first appearance dates back to 1976. The character is introduced as a scientist who loves to experiment. During a scuffle with one of his experiment victims, he gets accidentally injected with vampire blood and turns into a vampire. Frost is exceptionally manipulative and dangerous. If his status as a vampire didn't make him evil enough, he has an unusual ability that makes him untouchable. Anyone he bites develops a doppelganger, and Frost controls them with his mind. They're always at his disposal — like his personal vampire army. Twisted, right?

In the comics, Frost is Blade's archnemesis, and the very reason he becomes a vampire hunter — the ex-scientist murdered Blade's mother just as she was about to give birth, so he seeks to avenge her. There's only one minor issue. The comics depict Deacon Frost as a middle-aged, white-haired gentleman with red eyes, so Radcliffe might have to alter his appearance a bit. Or give us a different version of him entirely? We hope he's up for a challenge! Mahershala Ali is set to play Blade in the vampire hunter's stand-alone movie, so it would be the perfect opportunity for Deacon Frost to make an appearance.

Wolverine/Logan

We believe in the power of fan-casting — and are not in disagreement with Daniel Radcliffe's legion of fans who hope he will be the MCU's next Wolverine. Spider-Man, Hulk, and Captain America have been recast so different actors may play various versions of the superheroes, and with Wolverine yet to join the MCU, it would be a dream to see Radcliffe take on the role. Hugh Jackman has repeatedly confirmed he doesn't intend to play the mutant again, and Radcliffe appears to be open to it. The actor spoke with ComicBook.com at the SXSW premiere of his film "The Lost City," stating that he appreciated that fans were hoping for a "short guy" to play Wolverine, in line with the comics. The studio, however, hasn't approached the actor yet, and Radcliffe doesn't envision being a stand-in for Jackman:

"So many times, people come to me like, 'Hey man, heard the Wolverine news, that's pretty cool.' No, I don't know anything about it. Like, I appreciate that somebody is clearly going like, 'Wolverine's actually short in the comic books, you should get like a short guy to do it!' But I don't see myself, I don't see them going from Hugh Jackman to me. But who knows? Prove me wrong, Marvel."

Prove him wrong, you cowards!

Joseph Chapman/Union Jack

Imagine this: Daniel Radcliffe makes his silver screen MCU debut as one of Marvel's coolest British superheroes. Union Jack is one of Britain's most distinguished defenders (alongside Captain Britain) and a champion of ordinary people. The character's current iteration is Joseph Chapman, well-known for his physical prowess. The character is a skilled athlete at peak human condition and has enhanced strength, speed, and stamina. He wears a militaristic costume and carries two weapons of choice: a handgun, and a silver-edged dagger for his supernatural adversaries.

A prior version of the character appeared in "Captain America: The First Avenger" and was portrayed by JJ Feild. Union Jack has worked alongside already-introduced MCU characters such as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and Blade (Mahershala Ali) in the comics. He was also among the British heroes who fought against the Skrulls during their Secret Invasion of Earth. It's about time we have more British heroes in the MCU, no?

Vance Astrovik/Justice

Formerly known as Marvel Boy and also called Justice, Vance Astrovik is a powerful mutant with extraordinary gifts of his own: He possesses a psychokinetic ability that allows him to impact the minds of others. Vance's powers are displayed as explosive blasts of concussive force, which attack the synapses in the minds of any living being he strikes. The superhero is a skilled athlete with vast knowledge of unarmed combat, and he uses his powers to levitate and fly at high speed.

And here's the fun part: He also possesses Kate Bishop's familiar fangirl energy. Vance is fascinated by The Avengers, especially Captain America, and gets really excited about meeting them. The superhero has been affiliated with The Avengers — fighting alongside the planet's mightiest superheroes was a dream come true for him — and also became a founding member of the Guardians of the Galaxy in another timeline. In conclusion: Vance Astrovik is cool, wears a good-looking superhero suit, and Daniel Radcliffe would look incredible in it!

Dominikos Petrakis/Avalanche

Of late, the MCU has brought several Greek-inspired superheroes to life, particularly in "Eternals" and soon in "Thor: Love and Thunder" (its teaser trailer features Zeus in an Olympus-like setting). Another notable Greek character yet to appear on the big screen is the mutant Dominikos Petrakis, a skilled Greco-Roman wrestler known by the alias of Avalanche. He is a mutant who can induce enormous seismic waves with his bare hands. He doesn't even need to physically touch an object to generate the waves — he can do it from a distance. The waves are powerful enough to shatter inorganic matter, turn it into dust, and give rise to earthquakes and avalanches that can bring about mass destruction. It is said that with enough concentration, Avalanche could direct his power at the planet's tectonic plates and cause disastrous effects. Naturally, he is depicted as an enemy to the X-Men in the comic books.

Marvel Comics are teeming with lesser-known superheroes that deserve to be seen on the silver screen. And with every phase of MCU films paving the way for these characters to finally get the attention they deserve, we might be lucky to see Daniel Radcliffe play one of these incredible heroes — or villains — sooner rather than later.
