(Welcome to …And More, our no-frills, zero B.S. guide to when and where you can watch upcoming movies and shows, and everything else you could possibly stand to know.)

There isn't enough money in the world that would make me want to return to my high school years, but for Rebel Wilson in "Senior Year," it's the only thing that could make her feel complete. Joining the ranks of "Never Been Kissed," "Billy Madison," "Hiding Out," "Strangers with Candy," and "21 Jump Street," the upcoming comedy "Senior Year" centers on an adult woman returning to her high school years, but compared to other films like it, there's one massive difference. You see, Rebel Wilson's character doesn't have the decades of wisdom and experience of the stars of the previous aforementioned films, because she's spent the last 20 years in a coma. She may look and be 37 years old, but in her mind, she's still just a teenager. It's a pretty clever twist on a relatively common trope, so here's everything you need to know about "Senior Year" before you can check it out for yourself.

Senior Year Release Date And Where You Can Watch It

"Senior Year" was picked up for distribution by Netflix, who will debut the romantic-comedy on Saturday, May 14, 2022. The film joins their already impressive roster of teen fare including the "To All The Boys I've Loved Before" trilogy, "The Babysitter" films, "Yes, God, Yes," "The Kissing Booth" trilogy, "He's All That," "Candy Jar," "Banana Split," "Alex Strangelove," "See You Yesterday," "All The Bright Places," "Vampires Vs. The Bronx," the "Fear Street" trilogy, "There's Someone Inside Your House," and "Moxie," just to name a few.

What Is Senior Year About?

In 1997, Ruby was the most popular girl in her high school. She was the captain of the cheerleading squad, dating the quarterback of the football team, and on her way to becoming the prom queen. It looks like Ruby has everything she could ever want going for her, but when she falls off the top of a cheerleading pyramid, Ruby winds up in a coma. Now, 20 years later, Ruby awakens from her coma as a 37-year-old woman. Rather than adjust to her new life as an adult, she heads back to high school to finish where she left off, hoping to reclaim her crown as the queen bee, and finally win the title of prom queen. Uh, yeah. I'm very into this particular brand of comedy.

Senior Year Cast

Adult Ruby will be played by Rebel Wilson ("Pitch Perfect," "Jojo Rabbit," "Cats") who is returning to the screen after taking a hiatus in 2020. Joining Wilson are Mary Holland, Zoe Chao, Sam Richardson, Justin Hartley, Angourie Rice, Brandon Scott Jones, Chris Parnell, Michael Cimino, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Molly Brown, Tyler Barnhardt, Avantika, Joshua Colley, Lucy Taylor, and teen of queen cinema herself, Alicia Silverstone.

Senior Year Director, Writer, And More

"Senior Year" is being directed by Alex Hardcastle ("Grace and Frankie," "Love, Simon") in his first feature film. Hardcastle has a history directing comedy shows like "Parks & Recreation," and "The Office," so it will be interesting to see how he plays out at the feature length. The script comes from Brandon Scott Jones (who acted alongside Wilson in "Isn't It Romantic") based on a spec script from Andrew Knauer ("The Last Stand") and Arthur Pielli ("Ghost Team One"). The film is executive produced by Jeremy Stein, Jake Wagner, and Jake Weiner. Netflix will be co-producing the film with Paramount Players.
