"The Unbreakable Boy," a most-likely tearjerker of a movie, is based on Scott Michael LeRette's confirmed tearjerker of a memoir of the same name. LeRette is the father of an autistic boy with a rare brittle-bone disease, and his memoir, co-written with Suzy Flory, chronicles what he learned about life and God from his loving, open-hearted son. It's an inspirational, Christian tale, and one that will most likely do well in certain circles.

The Unbreakable Boy Release Date And Where You Can Watch It
"The Unbreakable Boy" will premiere in theaters on March 18, 2022. It doesn't look like it will be released concurrently on digital platforms, so heading to the movie theater is the only way to see it right when it comes out.
What Is The Unbreakable Boy?
The Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company-produced movie is based on the memoir by Scott Michael LaRette. In it, he shares how is son, Austin, has taught him to find joy in the everyday and trust that one's hardships will one day all make sense. The movie is based on this story, and centers on the relationship between the father and son. Given it's produced by Kingdom Story Company, a studio that makes Christian films, it will presumably have strong Christian elements to it as well.
The Unbreakable Boy Cast
Zachary Levi ("Shazam!") is playing LaRette in the film, a man who changes his worldview completely after experiencing his son's indestructible spirit. Jacob Laval ("The Plot Against America") is playing his son, Austin. Meghann Fahy, Peter Facinelli, Drew Powell, Pilot Bunch, and Patricia Heaton are also starring in the inspirational film, though we don't have details on the roles they will play.
The Unbreakable Boy Director, Writer, And More
Jon Gunn wrote the script and directed the film. This isn't Gunn's first time working with Kingdom Story Company — he also co-wrote and executive produced "I Still Believe," a film that focuses on Christian singer, Jeremy Camp. Producers on the project are Jon and Andrew Eriwn and Kevin Downs for Kingdom Story Company, and Meredith Wieck and Chelsea Kujawa from Lionsgate. Jerilyn Esquibel and Peter Facinelli are also producing.
